Completion level: The exterior of every Jim Walter home is completely finished, while the interior is finished to the degree contracted by the homebuyer. (Ex: Our affordable homes are available in one of three completion levels.)

• 100% or Turnkey home: A home that is finished inside and out, and is almost ready for move-in. If you add our allowances for water and sewer hook-up or well and septic installation, drives and walks, and any other items you need, your home will be ready to your move-in after the closing.

• Finish Stage: This stage includes interior doors, trim, cabinets, countertops, electrical, plumbing and heat. You are responsible for adding such features as floor coverings, paint, or any of our additional upgrades. (Ex: A home purchased in the finish stage is ready to move into at completion.)

• Shell Stage: Our most affordable home includes basic interior completion. (Ex: The inside of a home built to the shell stage is unfinished, with open stud walls ready for you to begin work.)

Elevation: A scale drawing of the front of a home showing optional faces, materials, and roof lines. (Ex: The elevation rendering shows the front of the Bakersfield model.)

Floor plan: An architectural drawing of a home, drawn to scale as if viewed from above. (Ex: The layout of the home is shown in the floor plan for the Summerdale model.)

Lot: A term often used to describe a piece of land that a home will be built on. (Ex: If you own land and want to build a new home, Jim Walter Homes will build on your lot.)

Sales Center: A Jim Walter Homes model home center, a location to view and tour model homes. (Ex: The Sales Counselors at the Jim Walter Homes Sales Center can help you purchase a home with no money down.)

Subcontractor: Independent workers with specialized skills and experience, such as a painter, carpenter or plumber. (Ex: A subcontractor works on the roof frame of the Savannah model.)

Tender: To turn over the home from the builder to the homeowner. (Ex: Once your home is substantially complete and inspected, we tender the home to you.)
